Expert Outdoor Living Area in Midlothian, TX

An outdoor living area turns your backyard into a space you actually use every day. At P&S Fencing and Decking, we build custom outdoor spaces for homeowners in Midlothian and across Ellis and Tarrant counties. Our work covers decks, covered patios, pergolas, and privacy structures that work together as one cohesive backyard setup. Midlothian's expansive clay soil shifts with the seasons, swelling after spring rains and pulling back through dry summer months. That ground movement affects every post and footing we set, so we build with that reality in mind from the start. Shawn and Philip started this company doing the work themselves, which means quality is not a talking point here — it is a requirement we hold our team to on every job. Whether you want a shaded deck off your back door or a full outdoor room for entertaining, we build it to hold up to North Texas weather year after year. Call us to talk through your backyard goals.

FAQ

Outdoor Living Area FAQ

Common questions about outdoor living area in Midlothian, TX.

Can P&S Fencing and Decking build both the deck and the privacy fence for my Midlothian backyard?

Yes, we handle both as part of a complete outdoor living setup. Combining your deck and fencing into one project keeps the layout, materials, and finish consistent across your backyard.

What outdoor living structures do you build for homeowners in Waxahachie and the surrounding area?

We build decks, covered patios, pergolas, and privacy structures for homeowners throughout Waxahachie and the surrounding Ellis County area. Each project is planned around how you want to use the space and how the structure will hold up to local weather.

Does the clay soil in Midlothian affect how my outdoor living area is built?

Yes, Midlothian's clay soil expands and contracts with rain and dry spells, which affects post depth and footing placement. We account for that ground movement when we plan every outdoor build.

Do you serve homeowners in Mansfield and Arlington for outdoor living projects?

Yes, we serve Mansfield, Arlington, and the surrounding communities as part of our regular service area. Contact us to discuss your project and we will set up a time to look at your property.

How do I get started on an outdoor living area project with P&S Fencing and Decking?

Call us directly to talk through what you want to build and where you are located. We serve homeowners across Midlothian, Cedar Hill, Burleson, Grand Prairie, and the surrounding communities.

Will a covered patio or pergola hold up to North Texas summers in areas like Red Oak or Ovilla?

A properly built shade structure handles the heat, UV exposure, and seasonal storms common across Red Oak, Ovilla, and the broader North Texas region. Material selection and build quality are what determine how well it holds up over time.

We couldn’t be happier with the work from P&S Fencing & Decking! They installed over 300 feet of 4-foot flat-top wrought iron fencing, along with two 4-foot walk-through gates with self-closing hinges and one 6-foot gate with self-closing hinges. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and every detail was done with care and precision! What impressed us the most was their efficiency..they knocked out the entire project in just two days without sacrificing quality. The crew was professional, hardworking, and kept everything clean throughout the process. Thanks to P&S, we now have a beautiful, secure yard where our children and dog can safely play, and that peace of mind is priceless. We are incredibly grateful for their work and would recommend P&S Fencing & Decking to anyone looking for quality fencing and exceptional service. Thank you for exceeding our expectations!

P&S Fencing and Decking recently completed an addition to our casita to expand the living area, and the results are outstanding. The new space feels modern, open, and beautifully integrated with the rest of our home. They also delivered a custom interior build‑out that truly showcases their skill and attention to detail. Highlights of their work include: ✔️ Clean, high‑quality finishes ✔️ A stunning custom brick accent wall ✔️ New flooring installed throughout ✔️ Recessed lighting and ceiling fan installation ✔️ A fully finished, move‑in‑ready living space Additionally, Phil’s consistent on‑site supervision represented a distinguishing aspect of this well‑run company. His presence ensured clear communication, smooth progress, and exceptional quality control from start to finish. We’re thrilled with the outcome of our project. P&S Fencing and Decking was professional, reliable, and delivered the results that we wanted, for our home addition.

P&S did a great job on a new build fence for a very good price. They responded quickly, were efficient with their work, and I’m very happy with the final product. Phillip even fixed a gate that was damaged by other construction workers weeks after the build, and did it quickly without charging. Initial quote was quick and easy at no cost. Mikie came out multiple times to walk the property with me prior and was responsive quickly to multiple changes I made. I highly recommended this company for any fencing work, and won’t hesitate to use them for any other of their services in the future
