Expert Outdoor Living Spaces in Midlothian, TX

Outdoor living spaces in Midlothian, TX take real planning. Summers push into the mid-90s, humidity climbs through June and August, and the expansive clay soil here swells and shifts with every rain cycle. A structure that ignores those conditions will show it within a few seasons. At P&S Fencing and Decking, Shawn and Philip started this company doing the work themselves. That hands-on background shapes how every outdoor living project gets built, from the depth of the footings to the spacing of the deck boards. We serve homeowners across Midlothian, Waxahachie, Cedar Hill, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Burleson, and the surrounding communities. Whether you want a covered patio that stays usable through a Texas summer afternoon, a deck built to stay level as the ground moves, or a defined outdoor area that extends your home's living space into the backyard, we build it to hold up. Call us to talk through your project.

FAQ

Outdoor Living Spaces FAQ

Common questions about outdoor living spaces in Midlothian, TX.

Can P&S Fencing and Decking build an outdoor living space in Waxahachie or do you only serve Midlothian?

We serve Waxahachie along with Midlothian, Cedar Hill, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Burleson, and several other communities in the area. If your home is in Ellis, Johnson, or Dallas County, reach out and we can confirm coverage for your address.

What types of outdoor living spaces does P&S build?

We build decks, covered patios, pergolas, and other outdoor structures that extend your home's usable space into the backyard. Each project is planned around your yard's layout, the local soil conditions, and how you want to use the space.

How does Midlothian's clay soil affect an outdoor living space build?

The clay soil in Midlothian swells when wet and shrinks during dry stretches, which puts stress on any structure anchored in it. We set footings deep enough to stay below the most active soil layer so the frame holds steady while the ground moves around it.

Is a covered patio worth it in the Midlothian heat?

Yes, a covered patio makes a real difference in a climate where summer highs regularly reach the mid-90s and humidity makes open spaces uncomfortable by midday. Shade structures let you use your outdoor area through more of the day and more months of the year.

Do I need to choose between a deck and a patio, or can P&S help me figure out which fits my yard?

We look at your yard's slope, drainage, soil, and available space before recommending a direction. Some Midlothian yards work better with an elevated deck, while others suit a ground-level patio or a combination of both.

How do I get a quote for an outdoor living space from P&S Fencing and Decking?

Call us directly to describe your project and we will set up a time to look at your property. We serve homeowners across Midlothian, Red Oak, Ovilla, Duncanville, Venus, Cleburne, Alvarado, Maypearl, and Palmer.

We couldn’t be happier with the work from P&S Fencing & Decking! They installed over 300 feet of 4-foot flat-top wrought iron fencing, along with two 4-foot walk-through gates with self-closing hinges and one 6-foot gate with self-closing hinges. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and every detail was done with care and precision! What impressed us the most was their efficiency..they knocked out the entire project in just two days without sacrificing quality. The crew was professional, hardworking, and kept everything clean throughout the process. Thanks to P&S, we now have a beautiful, secure yard where our children and dog can safely play, and that peace of mind is priceless. We are incredibly grateful for their work and would recommend P&S Fencing & Decking to anyone looking for quality fencing and exceptional service. Thank you for exceeding our expectations!

P&S Fencing and Decking recently completed an addition to our casita to expand the living area, and the results are outstanding. The new space feels modern, open, and beautifully integrated with the rest of our home. They also delivered a custom interior build‑out that truly showcases their skill and attention to detail. Highlights of their work include: ✔️ Clean, high‑quality finishes ✔️ A stunning custom brick accent wall ✔️ New flooring installed throughout ✔️ Recessed lighting and ceiling fan installation ✔️ A fully finished, move‑in‑ready living space Additionally, Phil’s consistent on‑site supervision represented a distinguishing aspect of this well‑run company. His presence ensured clear communication, smooth progress, and exceptional quality control from start to finish. We’re thrilled with the outcome of our project. P&S Fencing and Decking was professional, reliable, and delivered the results that we wanted, for our home addition.

P&S did a great job on a new build fence for a very good price. They responded quickly, were efficient with their work, and I’m very happy with the final product. Phillip even fixed a gate that was damaged by other construction workers weeks after the build, and did it quickly without charging. Initial quote was quick and easy at no cost. Mikie came out multiple times to walk the property with me prior and was responsive quickly to multiple changes I made. I highly recommended this company for any fencing work, and won’t hesitate to use them for any other of their services in the future
